Man, 22, Docked For Allegedly Breaking Into Warehouse

A 22-year-old man who allegedly broke into a warehouse and stole 13 baby beds worth N200,000, on Monday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, Umoru Haruna, is facing a two-count charge of breaking and theft.
The prosecutor, Insp. Philip Osijale, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 4, at about 2:00p.m.
He said that the accused unlawfully broke into the warehouse of one Mr Obi Obed at 39, Oronyimi St., Lagos Island, and stole 13 baby beds.
Osijale said that the accused was caught in possession of two of the beds by a salesboy of the complainant who raised alarm, following which the accused was apprehended.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene Sections 285, 305 (b) and 306 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate, Mr L.A. Owolabi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till Feb. 22, for hearing. (NAN)
